CHELSEA

Chelsea does not hide its ambition for 2020-2021. Last season’s number four is drawing attention on the transfer market, welcoming Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell, Malang Sarr and Thiago Silva. Chelsea are hoping that Werner, Havertz and Ziyech will provide goals in the direct attacking style the club developed under manager Frank Lampard. Chilwell and Silva has been brought in to reinforce the defensive balance. All with the aim of taking Chelsea to the first title since 2017.

MANCHESTER UNITED

The last time Manchester United celebrated the national championship was in 2013, during the last season under Sir Alex Ferguson. But having won the most titles in the history of the Premier League (13), the club can’t be skipped as one of the contenders. Last season, United finished in third place under coach Ole Gunnar Solskjær, as ‘best of the rest’ behind Liverpool and Manchester City. The manager from Norway has built a solid foundation and might be the first after Ferguson to lead The Reds Devils to a new title.

Arsenal

For Arsenal, the last Premier League title is even further in the past. The club appears in lists like this every year, but the Premier League trophy was last conquered in 2004. In recent years, Arsenal has regularly won the FA Cup, including last season. Being a huge club with a good squad and a top striker like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, we have reason enough to call Arsenal an outsider. Under manager Mikel Arteta they can compete for the title, but only if their plan comes together.

Manchester City

The major English betting websites give Manchester City the best chance of winning the Premier League title. Pep Guardiola’s team came out of the corona break very well and won eight of ten games in the end of the competition. City scored 31 goals after the restart and only conceded four. In the fourth season under Guardiola we can expect a well-trained team that can dominate at the half of the opponent with attacking football and ball possession. If they find their top form again, choosing Manchester City in your prediction might indeed be a safe bet.

Liverpool

Last season, Liverpool captured their first title since 1990. With an 18-point lead over number two Manchester City, Jürgen Klopp’s team was better than everyone else. Players like Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Trent Alexander-Arnold ensure that Liverpool will stay at the top, but critics point out that the selection is relatively small. Too few rotation options can break up the team in the long run due to the overcrowded schedule. Defending the title will not be an easy task, but together with Manchester City, Liverpool is the biggest contender.

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur was closer than ever in 2016, but was unlucky that Chelsea was having a top season as well. The Spurs’ ended in second place, their highest ranking ever achieved. José Mourinho will try to change that in his first full season at Tottenham. With new players such as Pierre-Emile Höjbjerg, Joe Hart and Matt Doherty, he has strengthened his already talented squad.
